6on7 vs Coffee Meets Bagel
CMB made the argument that a small curated daily set beats an endless deck, years before anyone else, and it was right. Its daily bagels built a genuinely different rhythm.
What Coffee Meets Bagel does better
The daily batch is a real product idea rather than a feature. Research on choice overload in online dating has found that an abundance of options triggers a rejection mindset, and CMB anticipated that commercially long before it was studied.
Its positioning is the clearest in the category - for serious daters - and it commits to it rather than hedging. Its free tier is also genuinely usable in a city where it has density.
Where the products genuinely differ
We agree with the premise and differ on the pool. CMB is strongest in a small number of large cities, and with narrow filters its free tier runs out quickly. We are open in 248 countries with no waitlist and no region lock.
We also treat the batch as an ordering rather than a ration. The daily set is a rotation based on your own account and the date, so it changes every day and does not repeat itself - but if you want to see everybody in reach, you change the sort and you can. Nothing is being held back to make you pay.
That distinction is the important one. A curated set that is all there is becomes a scarcity mechanic. A curated set you can step out of is just a good default.
What each one costs
CMB gates most preferences behind Premium, limits likes on the free tier, and sells flowers, boosts and a Beans currency, with a Platinum tier adding priority likes and incognito.
There is no currency here and no consumable of any kind. Age, distance, intent, language and interest filters are on every account; the paid tiers add stricter screening of the pool itself.
Safety
CMB offers a selfie verification step and standard reporting and blocking, and links a biometrics policy in its footer. It does not offer ID verification or background checks.
Our eleven checks include a government ID, proof of address and employment, and every profile shows which ones the person actually completed.
The straight answer
If you are in a city where CMB has real density and you like the noon-bagel rhythm, it is a genuinely good product and worth your time. Come here if you are not in one of those cities, or if you want the curated set without the ceiling on it.
